We Bought A Lapidary Machine!
On a whim, we decided to purchase a lapidary machine to see if this was something we could use with some of the stones we pick up off the beaches. Turns out it is working quite well, but we still need A LOT of practice so it will be a while before you start to see some of the stones on the site. The great thing about this machine is that it can polish stones and take out some scratches on stones that I already had. In my last batch of tumbled stones from Cape May Point, many of the larger Cape May Diamonds got chipped, knicked or scratched during the polishing process as I got a bigger tumbler and it was much rougher on the stones. I was planning on retumbling them but I would lose a lot of the stone and clear Cape May Diamonds are hard to come by, so now we can take out the chips and knicks rather quickly and put these stones to good use much sooner!
