Tumbler Woes…

Filed under: Jewelry Talk — leeshie @ 10:32 pm

Earlier this year I purchased another double tumbler from Harbor Freight made by Chicago Electric because my other one that was a few years old was on its last legs. The old tumbler died over the summer when a plastic piece fell off one of the rotary wheels that kept the belt in place. I thought it was just a fluke and continued to use my new tumbler. I noticed that every week I had to replace the belt that turns the two rotary wheels (which in turn move the rods so the barrels roll). I was getting down to my last replacement belt, and the same thing happened with my new tumbler where this plastic piece just broke off the smaller rotary wheel and no longer can hold the belt in place. I tried to rig the belt on the bare metal, and it now turns but so slow its almost just a waste of time. I broke down and ordered a new commerical tumbler which is what I should have done in the beginning of the summer. Now I am waiting for the new tumbler to arrive and hoping I can finish the stones I have been trying to polish all summer long so I can wrap a few pieces in time for the holidays.

Filed under: Fundraising For Cancer Awareness — leeshie @ 12:39 pm

We are so excited that it looks like we will meet our goal of raising $1000 towards Cancer Research. To date, we are 82% towards our goal and delighted that we are able to make such a difference and help raises these kinds of funds for such needed research.

We decided that once we hit our goal of $1000, we will have a site wide sale – so stay tuned as hitting this goal is certainly worth a celebration!

If you are interested in what jewelry we donate $5 towards cancer research and the fight against cancer, check out our beaded cancer awareness bracelets. Each bracelet that we sell, Vael Designs donates $5 of the profits towards cancer research and the fight against cancer.

Remember that November is Lung Cancer Awareness month, and we have recently added a Lung Cancer Awareness bracelet to our line to support awareness of lung cancer.
